Historic Burgaw
Railroad Depot, once part of the Wilmington and Weldon Train
Company, is one of the oldest remaining train depots in the
state.
The Poplar Grove Plantation preserves artifacts of the Foy
family, which operated the plantation during the 1800s.
Area events include the North Carolina Spot Festival, Pender
County Springfest, Scots Heritage Day, Riverwalk Festival,
Blueberry Festival, North Carolina Seafood Festival and many
more.
Pender County is served by 7 elementary schools, 4 middle schools, 3 high
schools and Pender Learning Center.
Pender Memorial Hospital, an 86-bed facility, serves area health care needs.
New Hanover Regional Medical Center and Cape Fear Hospital also serve area
